Does it strike anyone that within the past two weeks – I have noticed that I have had just way too many “critical updates” notifications !!? I am running an older Dell Optiplex, Windows 98SE, and just recently had a complete Wipe done on the hard disk, from a moderately corrupted driver issue.
I brought the machine IN from repairs, did all the updates and tweaking to recoup my losses. Put a hard copy of Norton directly ON, and added all new applications where necessary.
Here’s my point, if Microsoft is detecting so “many” security issues – are we being toyed with by at the very least “troublesome persons’ of questionable purpose”, and shouldn’t the common, run-of-the-mill home user be made slightly more aware of risks, than what the typical news program talks about ??
