Hello,
We are hosting a new intranet site on a Win NT 4 server using IIS4 on a ntfs partition and Front Page 2000. We also have the 2002 server extensions installed. I have setup all the directories within the site and given the appropiate users the correct NT permissions for each directory. The problem is that none of these users can actually edit these folders even though they have the correct permissions. They are asked to enter their user names and passwords but they are always rejected. The only people that can edit the site are users that are members of the administrators group. I’ve noticed that when I try and add users or groups with FP 98 the error message “cannot initilize the role author or administrator or browser” appears. I’ve located the intranet directory outside of the wwwroot folder as I could not upgrade server extensions 2002 while it was in the wwwroot directory. Any help on how I can get the permissions working properly would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
