Invalid page fault

I got message “explorer caused an invalid page fault in module explorer.exe at 015f:00401f31” and could not start windows98.i wiped my hard drive clean and started again and the same problem is back.How can i fix this problem.iwas using win98,i/e explorer 6, o/l express 6, pent 11 266mhz,256mb ram. any help is greatly appreciated.
