Invalid System Disk, replace disk

I tried installing HP All-in-one software, got error 2359. Updates would download but not install. Told of a glitch in Windows ME that wouldn’t allow this software to install. After days of trying to fix the problem, I get up to take a break, come back and I have nothing. The screen is black and says Invalid system disk, replace disk and hit any key to continue. I was told to run System recovery disk and still nothing. Today I was told to run My anti-virus software, I put in the cd and it scanned fine. 0 Virus’ found. But it still wil not boot up.
