IP Addressing

I am trying to set up a network at home since we just received cable modems. I have the router hooked up and we both can go online and look at different websites at the same time, but when we go to play games, we end up using the same ip address soit boots the other user off. Is there anyother way to get an IP address without having to pay for one just so we can play the games? Thanks for the help!
