IP SCOPE

Greetings!!

I want to create a private IP that range from 192.168.1.1 – 192.168.X.X. I want to subnet our network so that our total IP would be more or less than 2,000 IP(network id).
Our existing Network ID is too big (65,xxx ip) ranges from 192.168.1.1 – 192.168.100.100, subnet is 255.255.0.0.

Is it possible to start with a class c private IP such as 192.168.1.1??? What should be the netmask if we want to create 2,000 IP.
