iPod is not recognized on one PC, but is on another

Recently my 3rd Gen iPod is not recognized by either XP or iTunes, although the same iPod is recognized by both on another XP computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. No change. As far as I know, I have no other USB problems on this computer. The iPod does charge OK.
