IRQ Conflict?

by jmendoza . Updated 22 years, 8 months ago

I’m running a 750MHz PIII on a system. I recently added a printer to it and in order to do so, I had to go into the BIOS and enable the onboard USB controller. Since then, WINXP Detects the printer fine, and it detects my NIC fine. But the NIC cannot connect to the internet. and IPCONFIG /ALL in DOS brings up the error message that windows cannot open the socket. There IS/WAS and IRQ conflict between the NIC and the USB but even with IRQ’s manually set, the device doesn’t work properly but is detected properly. I even disabled the USB controller in BIOS and bought an expansion card for it… same thing… and just in case you’re wondering… yes, I did move the NIC from it’s PCI slot to the following, until I finally ran out of slots. Someone Please help. e-mail me if you need any further detailed information.
