IRQ’s in Windows 2000 Pro

I’ve noticed that W2K Pro has assigned IRQ 9 to at least 8 devices in my system. These include the Sound Card, NIC, Modems, SCSI card and others. There is no way for me to manually change the IRQ’s since they are grayed out and uninstalling and re-instaling the devices dosen’t seem to work.

The Device Manager does not show any conflicts but when I view the devices by type is when I notice IRQ 9 being used. As I recall, IRQ 9 is IRQ 2 redirected so I’m surprised to see this. There are other IRQ’s available but not being used.

Is there any reason for this in W2K Pro? Is this normal?
