is there anyway to back up AD?

i wanted to know if there is anyway to backup the AD in the domain so it can be restored later?
I only have access to one server and i want to reinstall the win2k OS b/c its giving me lot of problems so i want to know if there is anyway to save theAD domain data and restore after I’ve reinstalled the win2k
