Is X Internet == Rich Internet Application?

I just notice that X Internet is a hot topic. As i am doing a technology research paper. But suddenly i saw some website that say X Internet is actually Rich Internet Application!

Oh gosh, Rich Internet Application is so common nowadays!

is X Internet really the future?
