Isass.exe termination error

by total geek . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I am having a problem trying to boot up Windows 2000. It gets to the part where it is ‘Preparing network connections’ and hangs there for a while. It then comes up with a dialogue box telling me that the system will be shutdown by NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The following comes:
C:\WINNT\System32\Isass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code – 1073741571. The system will shutdown and restart.

This message comes up every time it reboots. It is caught in a loop. I have just recently formattedthe HDD and re-installed WIndows 2000 Pro. It is an IBM machine therefore the software is preloaded from the first partition on the HDD.

Can anyone help me with this problem as I can’t seem to get my head around it.

Look forward to a response
Mil
