ISS server name disappears from network

The Server domain name keeps dropping from the network. When you try to find the computer by name it not available but you can ping it or find the computer by ip address. Also so far our quick fix to this is just reboot the server and everthing goes back to normal but this leaves me unsatified what could be the problem?
