I recently upgraded my processor from a Celeron D 2.4GHZ to a Core 2 Duo
1.8GHZ, since then I keep getting stop errors any time I try watch a DVD or
DivX films on the pc. The errors only accur only while doing either those two thing I just mentioned. I already posted this question, since then I’ve reinstalled XP that is what a couple of people suggested up until the re instillation I was able to play DVD’s but now I get stop errors for that too.
I have upgraded the bios to the latest version. And tried every possible setting in the bios with no success, also updated the drivers for everything else. I don’t know what much more I can do. Some one suggested setting the cpu clock for the new processor but I did not come across any option to do so. The motherboard is a Foxconn Core Series. It says on the box core 2 duo compatible also the memory is the right type for the motherboard PC2 3200.
The GPU is a ATI Radeon X300 SE.
PSU 350 Watts.
