Java Virtual Machine, XP & Explorer v6

by david . Updated 24 years ago

Hi, after installing an additional HD which was configured to be the new C: drive, I regularly get the error message “To display this page correctly, you need to download and install the following components: Java Virtual Machine” when accessing certain internet pages, and also the choice to download or cancel. Choosing download takes me to MS’s web – and the message “We’re sorry. Automatic installation of Microsoft Virtual Machine is no longer provided for Microsoft Windows XP.”
I didn’t getthe message before when accessing the same pages. The ‘old’ C: drive (which is now my d: drive) has a number of java*.* files, there are no java*.* files on the new drive.
Can I ‘just’ copy the files over from the D: to the new C: drive??
I suspect not, and if not what is the process to get a Java VM installed???
