Join XP Pro workstation to an NT domain

I have had difficulties getting an XP Pro workstation to join the domain (SBS 4.5). It had joined automatically at one point, but after renaming the computer it lost connectivity. I would also like to use peer to peer as a backup, is there a NETBUI protocal on XP?
