JPG Quality

I have recently moved back to dial-up after being on broadband. After going back to 56k, all picture quality on the internet has gone down the tubes. This seems to have happened automatically with no reason…Does anyone know if this is a setting in IE that can be changed? XP Pro + IE 6.0.2
