kernell32.dll

I have Sony Vaio laptop. After installing network card and HP all-in-one machine I have been having problems. After turning on the power, at start up, the message comes up: You have performed an illegal operation….and it has to do with kernell32.dll. I know it is related to Win98. I can operate my laptop but this message at start up worries me.
