Keyboard Configuration

In a DOS box my keyboard enters e (with accent – French) over it when I press the slash (/) key. I realize that this is Canadian French keyboard.. But I have the keyb. configured in Windows for US English.
There is no problem in Windows; Only when open a DOS box within Windows. Thanks for any help. Sincerely, From Canada.
