After taking my computer to a LAN party and unplugging everything/re hooking it all up, everything worked fine untill the Windows login screen came up (Windows XP Pro SP2). Everything worked fine, (peripherals) except my keyboard, (Saitek Eclipse II). Nothing would happen when I typed on this USB keyboard. After trying multiple other keyboards, (both USB and PS/2 keyboards,) nothing had worked. I figured somehow a driver file got damage so i used a boot floppy and copied the file to my hard drive partition where Windows was located, (C:\windows\system32\drivers\(kbdclass.sys being the file)). After it copied succsessfully, I still experience the same problem. I have tried safe mode and other configurations. I have changed nearly all of the settings in the BIOS menu including disabling the USB ports and Legacy Support, but still no luck; (I had a feeling it was a driver issue because of the fact that the PS/2 keyboard works perfect in BIOS but as soon as the windows logo screen came up, from there on it didn’ work.)
Any ideas or tips or anything would be greatly appreciated seeing as over 15 days have been spent trying to fix this anomaly.
Thanks,
Kip
