I currently have 4 compuater connected to our server. 2 running windows 2000, 1 running windows 98 and 1 running windows XP. I have a dsl connection going into a hub a hub at the server where all computers share the internet. Currently I amhaving a problem connecting to the internet through the windows XP machine. The machine is connected to the server and does recieve email and such. Also the machine can connect to AOL using AOL’s software through the internet connection. However it will not connect to any web pages unless connected through AOL. I had this problem with another computer that was running windows 2000. To solve this I went to a cmd prompt and typed ipconfig/release and then ipconfig/renew. I then went under internet explorer and to tools > internet options and set up a LAN internet connection again. This fixed the problem on the windows 2000 machine. I did try this on the windows XP machine and when I do the ipconfig/release all the ip address information shows up as 000.000.000.000 Why is it doing this? And what can be done to solve the internet connection problem?
