Laptop

Have a Sony Laptop …win 98 64megs of ram..
Problem..computer boots ok but laptop screen is garbled very much like on a blocked HBO signal but worse… multi colors and all distorted…when you connect to a conventional monitor all is fine can access desk top etc. but LCD laptop screen stays all garbled…
So any clues as to what is going on.
