Laptop Connectivity

I have a user that uses his laptop at work as well as at home. At work he has a static IP but at home his cable modem connection uses DHCP.

What would be the best way to configure this so his connectivity at either location is transparent and doesn’t require any user interaction? He is running Win2K Pro and only has a single NIC in his laptop.
