laptop has power wont boot

I have an acer aspire 1350 3 yr old laptop. The power supply light glows, the power light on the laptop glows and the charged battery light glows “charged”. I push the power button, the cd drive rattles, the hard disk light flickers briefly and then nothing.

What is wrong with my baby?
