laptop problem

i have sony laptop ,purchased 2 years back.it was working fine. but 2 weeks back i was browsing my computer suddenly my laptop went to safe mode and gave the message as ” the system is in problem need to shutdown”
afterwords it is not booting at all.
i tried to boot wit recovery cd also
but i m not able to boot ata alll
will u give me some sujestion what to do/
is this is the maqjor problem?
