Laptop question on bad screen..please help anyone

Hello TR Family I was wondering how i can hook my old laptop hp N5350 which the screen is bad and hook it up to my hp dv4000 so i can view my files and maybe transfer my files to my new computer or at lease be able to see what’s on my bad laptop so i can burn files that i need
Basically i want to use my new laptop screen to see the old laptop which the scree is not working, must be the cable cause i can barely see the screen not enough to see my files. Any help would be great out here..I’m kinda new to this and would like some help from someone who knows what I’m trying to do,
