laptop to tv.

I’ve been looking for an easy, cheap way to connect my laptop to my tv. My laptop does not have an s-video post, but it has vga. My tv only has composite. Is it possible to connect vga -> s-vid -> composite via 2 seperate cables? Or is a scan converter necessary?
