laptop won’t turn on

I have a hp pavillion zt1260 laptop and it won’t turn on. I dont think the battery is dead because if i hold the power button down all of the led lights and the cd display light up. if i take out the battery and plug in the ac power it still won’t turn on and i get the same thing.
