Large file Coping/transfering

Whats the scoop on the limit if any on coping large files from on computer to another over a peer to peer network if the file is over 2 gig?

I get an error message like “Cannot create or replace (then file name) The parameter is incorrect”
Is there a way around this? If not what program would you recommend to do this job? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
