Lexmark Optra takes long time to print

We have a Lexmark Optra 1200 that takes quite a long time to spool and print from Corel draw and Adobe Pagemaker 6.5. Anybody have any suggestions, The tech help from Lexmark was no help whats so ever. I’ve swapped out cables and reinstalled drivers, I don’t know what to do next.
