After having done many Linksys wireless network set-ups, I’m experiencing an
issue for the first time using 2 Linksys Wireless G USB Adapters
w/Speedbooster. One machine is a fresh build with XP ProSP2 and the other is
a year old box just updated w/SP2. Router is a brand new Linksys WRT54GS
using the exact same security template I’ve used on all installs. At boot up,
both machines start normally and make a wireless connection with the green
tray icon confirming a connection with blue progress bars showing signal
strength. All is well for 24 hours, at which time both Linksys monitors
“disable” themselves and grey out, as if no connection, but connectivity
actually continues flawlessly. At reboot, the monitors activate and then shut
down again after another 24 hours. I’ve reinstalled the software twice in
both machines to be sure and the problem still exists. As I always do, the
WZC utility was diabled. The only common denominator is the first time using
the USB type of Linksys wireless component. Any thoughts would be greatly
appreciated.
