Liteon40122 won’t recognise blank media.

I have a Liteon 40122 USB 2.0 CD burner on my pc which has w2k + 450MHz pIII + 256MB ram + USB 1 (I guess)port. The connection to pc is via USB 2.0 adapter cable.

My liteon reports all blank media as “Bad medium – error reading CD information”.
Do I need a special driver to make the liteon work with my pc?

If so, then where can I get it from?
