LOAD BALLANCING

by s2rock . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I have 3 W2k terminal servers all running the same apps. The users are divided among the 3 terminal servers. On the users desktop there is a shortcut to the appropriate terminal server connection. (We do not use Citrix).

My problem is I sometimeshave to take one server offline to do some work on it, which means I have to manualy go to all the users workstations and change their client conection manager settings to enable them to go to another server. Then when the server is fixed I have togo switch them back.

I would like to know if there is a way I can automaticaly update their shortcut without going to each computer? Can it be done with a script or some othe type of configuration? It would be great if I could make a change to the login script and have the desired shortcut appear on the desktop after a reboot. All workstations are win98, but I plan to upgrade to w2kpro. Can someone please tell me if this is even possible.

Thanks
