Loading Personal Settings takes ages

We have a small ~10 PC Network 3 newly install XP Pro machines when logging on to the SBS 2000 Domain Controller take approximately 2 minutes to load personal settings, yet when they just log on to the local machine it logs on rapidly (10 – 15 seconds) what is causing this? and how do I get around it
