loading windows on c&d drives

I currently have my windows 98se on my c drive which has 10 gig.and is nearly full. Can I load windows onto my d drive , which has 40 gig.and run as normal or would I have problems. If I can please tell me how as i am only a beginer.Thankyou jimbo
