Local connections drop when using RAS

I am using an Windows NT 4.0 server with service pack 6a.
The LAN connections between the server and the local
clients drops when I establish an outgoing dial-up
connection from the WIndows NT Workstation . Once the outgoing
RAS connection is disconnected, the Local LAN connection
resumes.
