Local Printing with Terminal Server

From what I understand, Terminal Server is supposed to automatically provide printer redirection. I am on a terminal server client, that connects via modem to the server. I am having trouble printing locally. Terminal Server is not detecting my local printer. If you have had this problem, how can it be resolved?
