logging on a winnt 4 machine no desktop

When I log on to a Windown NT 4 machine I cant see my desktop, start button or anything, when I hit ctrl+alt+del it tells me that I am logged on, if I go to another machine and log on it work fine. What could be the problem? Thanks for Any comments.
