Login to Virtual Directory for web page

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Thanks to some help I got here earlier I managed to setup my 2000 Prof. workstation as an ftp server with virtual directories so the user loging in goes directly to their directory and can only see their directory. Now I want to do the same thing with web pages. With a login link to my server the user logs in and is sent to their directory (virtual directory) where their website is launched. I setup the virtual directory just like I did with ftp, but unless the link to the server includes the users directory (http://server/user) it does not go to that directory upon login. Shouldn’t it work the same as the ftp?
What I would really like to do, is use the login link from my site to send users to my server. When they hit my server they get the login window. After entering their user & password they are sent to their directory. If their is an index.html file there, the website opens, or if it is just an ftp site they browse the directory. Any ideas? Thanks
