A user is logged in with a few drives mapped to server. The drives are accessible. Then suddenly, when trying to access one of the mapped drives, the error: “Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect.” appears. It “seems” that this is occurring after the PC hasn’t been used for 10 minutes or more (no screensavers). Sometimes, this is recoverable by simply browsing down the network to the server’s shares – then drives are suddenly accessible again. Other times, when I get down to the server, the same error message appears (however, I can still browse other computers). In this case, the system must be shut down and restarted in order to recover. This system does have two NIC’s – one used for ICS. The frequent restarts are driving the end user nuts! – and I’m scratching my head. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
