Logon scripts and updating Virus files

Hi,
I would like to know how I can use a logon script to check the virus pattern files and update them if necessary. We use Mcafee on our systems. At the moment it is set up to check every time the Pc is switched on but a lot of users never power their PC down so it would be better to check every time they logon. Thanks
