I have an IBM(Lenovo now) R40 Thinkpad, running XP Pro. I have a home wired/wireless network. The R40 runs(used to)on the wireless.
I inserted a Best Connectivity FireWire PCCard, which autodetected and worked with the firewire device.
However, after inserting the card, the info bubble told me that I was disconnected from my home network! I have good reception, 90%, and the ThinkVantage program goes through the process of trying to connect but now it says that it cannot get an IP from my router.
As a test, I swapped my old hard drive running XP Home, and it logged on automatically within seconds, so I know it is not hardware.
What setting has the PCCard changed that will not allow my wireless to work properly? In the Control panel, properties, they both seem to be on IRQ 11.
If the settings can be changed back, how can I get the two to coexist?
Any help would be appreciated!
