To start I will give you an overview of our network. We have about 50 machines 20 mac, rest pc’s. We have three nt 4 servers on two domains. The production department (6 macs) is a member of the “a” domain. On the PDC there are four volumes (1,2,3,4).
My problem is a puzzling one. We are trying to copy folders down from the NT server to the macs, however when we do, we get errors such as “file is in use” (even though it isn’t) and “file is already copied”(even though it hasn’t been). Ithought it was a permissions problem so I gave the whole volume from which we are trying to copy from full control to everyone. That didn’t help. Another thing that is strange is if I move the folder to be copied to another volume or the system drive on the server and move it back to the original location, we can copy the file down to the macs without a problem. I am giving a lot of points away on this so try to help me out. Let me know if you need to know more.
