I have set up my MacBook Pro HD (2.3 Ghz Intel, 2 gigs ram) to print to our workgroup printer, a Dell 5100cn, as an ip printer. I can connect to the printer, but I can’t print anything to it.
Any document I try to print takes 5-10 minutes to spool to the printer’s memory and then I get a page printed out with this on it:
ERROR: syntaxerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: –nostringval–
STACK:
/get gstate
false
and the other page
ERROR: syntaxerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: –nostringval–
{/FontType 3 def /ct ShowCharString /ct Type3ShowCharString load def / ct dfSetCacheProc /ct CloneSetCacheProc load def / ct_SyntheticBold false
false
/BaseFontTemplate
false
Both of these errors came back on the same InDesign document I was trying to print. I was trying to print only characters and they were fonts that were installed on my Mac.
I converted the file to a PDF with the same results.
I also can’t print from Word.
I do get an error from the print dialog box:
Host did not accept data file (32). And then the dialog box tries to spool the data to the printer again, but this time hangs at 25% indefinitely.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
