macafee causing startup problems

When macafee is installed my pc will not start up properly. Right before windows desktop comes up the screen will go black and freeze. Nothing will work. If I press f8 the safe mode screen doesnt come up and the screen still stays black but this somehow forces windows to continue loading. When it comes up everything works fine. If macafee isnt installed the computer boots up fine.
