Macintosh and Win2k network

by bertustech . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

We have a pure Win2k environment and our CEO has recently purchased an Apple laptop and announced that it will be from now on his computer of choice! That meant (for me, at least) hurrying to learn a new OS and figuring out how to join the darn thing to our domain, allowing printing, access to shared resources, etc. etc. bloody etc.

I managed to get print services started, by installing AppleTalk on one of the print servers, and getting almost everything configured, dhcp and internet connection, e-mail through POP3, even AirPort, but I’m stumped on one thing: how do you successfully add the Mac to a Win2k domain? So that the user can simply log on to the network and have access to shared folders, etc? Is it as simple as installing the AppleTalk protocol on the active directory?
