Macintosh IE 5.0/ISA Proxy Server

by mogilner . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I work for a company who is in the early stages of installing Microsoft ISA Proxy Server. The ISA Proxy Server of course works wonderfully with the Microsoft Windows NT/2000 machines. We also have a small number of Macintosh Computers that need to go through the ISA Proxy.

The problem that occurs is that when the Macintoshes are connected to network drives AND trying to browse the internet with IE 5.0 for the Macintosh the LAN account locks up. This of course means the person no longer has access to their network drive nor the internet through the ISA Proxy Server. This behavior happens within about 30 – 45 minutes and will continue to lock up every half hour.

The interesting thing is that this behavior does NOT seem to happen with the Netscape Browser 4.0.8 or Netscape 6.1. Our company very much wants to stick with IE.

I am wondering if any of you had any experience with Macintoshes and the ISA Proxy. Our server group is stumped and they say Microsoft is stumped to.
