Make a USB thumb Drive Read Only

I’m looking for a way to lock the data on a thumb drive so that it CAN be accessed but cannot be edited or removed after it is locked. There are apps that lock folders with password protection, but they don’t prevent someone from deleting the files.

Any ideas?
