Managing data on servers

I just got moved to a project that has their own infrastructure in place. During the setup phase they had a server open to all where users could temporarily store project related information on there. However in time this has balloned into an uncontrollable beast. Now they want to clean it up and shut it down. My task is to identify the owners of the files and folders and get them to remove their data. How can I generate a list of owners of the files and folders ?? Is there a simple command or utility that could help me ??
