Manual Feed Tray Default Problem

We have an HP 9000 printer which is always defaulting to the manual feed tray when set to “automatically select”. I’ve tried to remove Tray 1 and Tray 1 (manual), but it still won’t default to Tray 2.

My boss is getting frustrated – as well as myself. Please help.
